A submarine of the Baltic fleet went to sea to work out its tasks.
The project 877 (Varshavyanka) submarines are the quietest Russian submarines, which is explained by the absence of noisy power units, a verified streamlined shape and a special hydroacoustic coating of the hull. In the West, for their high secrecy, they received the respectful nickname "Black hole". Submarines of this series can counteract both submarines and surface ships, and are designed to protect naval bases, coasts, and sea communications.
In the Baltic sea, the Black hole is the diesel – electric submarine Dmitrov. As part of the maneuvers that began, in cooperation with the ships of the BF "Dmitrov" carried out an exit for trawls. After that, the crew performed an independent crossing of the minefield and conducted in-ship exercises on various types of training.
Further, "Dmitrov" is waiting for torpedo firing at surface and underwater targets, said "Military-industrial courier" head of the information support Department of the press service of the Western military district for the Baltic fleet, captain 1 rank Roman Martov.
