The Leningrad naval base will be reinforced with a division of the Bal mobile coastal missile system. This is a response to the build-up of NATO troops in the immediate vicinity of the land borders of the Kaliningrad region.
Admiral Alexander Nosatov, commander of the Baltic fleet, told Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper about this, summing up the results of the school year. He noted that at present, one armored unit, several multinational battalion-tactical groups, as well as other NATO shock units and units have been pulled to the borders of Russia. Therefore, the Russian Armed forces are forced to take retaliatory measures.
A full-fledged motorized rifle division will be formed, which will become part of the army corps of the Baltic fleet. It consists of regiments: motorized rifle, artillery and a separate tank.
In addition to the Bal coastal missile system, the Baltic fleet also received other new models of engineering, repair and other special equipment. Next year, the fleet will also be reinforced with a division of the Bastion mobile coastal missile system.
