"A batch of eight Terminator BMPs entered the guards tank division of the Central military DISTRICT for trial operation. Currently, the personnel of the division's re-equipped motorized rifle units are being retrained to work on new equipment, " Colonel-General A. Lapin said.
The use of BMPT in combat formations can significantly increase the combat capabilities of tanks and their survivability on the battlefield. The BMPT crews have already been selected and formed. Currently, representatives of the plant acquaint military personnel with the combat capabilities of these vehicles, as well as their driving characteristics.
"Terminator" is a multi-purpose highly protected combat tracked fire support vehicle with powerful weapons, modern fire control devices and high maneuverability. It is able to hit lightly armored targets, tanks and IFVs, together with the military air defense to fight with helicopters and low-flying low-speed enemy aircraft.

Bmpd comment. On August 24, 2017, the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation and JSC Uralvagonzavod Research and production Corporation signed a contract for the supply of the first 12 production BMPT vehicles at the third international military-technical forum Army-2017 ("Object 199"), which was planned to be implemented during 2018.
The first BMPs manufactured under this contract were demonstrated by the parent company of Uralvagonzavod in Nizhny Tagil in March 2018, then three cars took part in the Victory Parade on may 9, 2018 in Moscow. The concept of a tank support combat vehicle (BMPT) was developed in the USSR from the beginning of the 1980s and involved the creation of a combat vehicle with a multi-channel weapons system designed to suppress anti-tank weapons when operating in battle formations of tank units and units. Long-term work on the topic has demonstrated, judging by the available information, the impossibility of creating such a machine with the specified efficiency requirements at the current level of technology development and with the condition of an acceptable cost.
However, one of the latest variants, created on the theme of OCD BMPT "Frame 99" JSC "the Ural design Bureau of transport machine building" (UKBTM, as part of JSC "Scientific and production Corporation "Uralvagonzavod"), identified as the "Object 199", more than 20 years advanced "Uralvagonzavod" in the defense Ministry under the guise that "machines for fighting in the city", the "machine for anti-terrorist operations". The changing leadership of the Ministry of defense and the General Staff for a long time did not show much enthusiasm for the purchase of this BMPT, but in the end, Tagil's long siege of the Ministry of defense, including after the demonstration of a prototype BMPT in Syria in 2017, bore fruit in the form of a decision to purchase a relatively small batch of vehicles.
In its current form, the Object 199 BMPT is more of a tank with a weakened main armament (a 30-mm gun with an ATGM instead of a 125-mm gun with an ATGM-recall that both 30-mm guns of the Object 199 are not designed for simultaneous firing, so in terms of fire, there is actually one gun), due to which it houses two additional crew members with anti-personnel grenade launchers.
