Moscow. December 1. INTERFAX-the Russian squadron in the Mediterranean sea has more than 10 ships, including the Admiral Essen frigate equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles and the Vyshny Volochyok small missile ship, the Russian black sea fleet said on Tuesday.
"Currently, there are more than 10 ships and support vessels of the black sea fleet in the Mediterranean sea, including the frigate Admiral Essen and the small rocket ship Vyshny Volochyok," the report says.
On November 30, the black sea fleet reported that the squadron in the Mediterranean left the small rocket ship "Ingushetia".
On Tuesday, the press service of the Baltic fleet reported that the plavmasterskaya PM-82 went to the Mediterranean sea to ensure the technical readiness of ships and submarines of the Russian Navy compound.
The Russian squadron is in the Mediterranean sea on a permanent basis. Russian frigates, as well as diesel submarines from the permanent formation of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean sea, have repeatedly struck with Kalibr cruise missiles (Almaz-Antey Concern JSC) at militants in Syria.
Russia has a naval base in the Syrian port of Tartus in the Mediterranean sea.
