VLADIVOSTOK, December 1. /TASS/. The crews of MiG-31BM fighters of the Pacific fleet marine aviation (TOF) took up combat duty at the Anadyr airfield in Chukotka to strengthen the aviation group in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, the press service of the fleet reported on Tuesday.
"To strengthen the aviation grouping in the Arctic zone, The crews of MiG-31BM high-altitude fighter-interceptors of the naval aviation of the Pacific fleet took up combat duty on air defense at the Anadyr airfield. Currently, the aviation division is working out issues of interaction with ground-based air defense systems when performing tasks for their intended purpose, " the press service said.
In addition, the airfield has completed work on the improvement of premises intended for accommodation, rest and food for crews while they are on round-the-clock combat duty for air defense.
