The aircraft were relocated from the Komsomolsk-on-Amur plant to the permanent airfields of the Russian aerospace forces.
This delivery completes a five-year contract under which 50 su-35S were delivered to combat duty in the Russian Federation's air force combat regiments by the end of 2020.

The aircraft were built at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aviation plant named after Yuri Gagarin (Knaaz) - a branch of the Sukhoi Company and became the final batch in the implementation of the next contract in the interests of the military Department. Today, the vehicles were sent from the manufacturer to the permanent airfields of the Russian aerospace forces.

As part of the Army-2020 forum, the UAC signed a number of long-term contracts for the supply of the latest aviation equipment for the Russian Ministry of defense, including su-35S fighters.

Thus, the delivery to the Russian Ministry of defense of all 50 su-35S produced by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aviation plant named after Yuri Gagarin (Knaaz, a branch of PJSC Sukhoi Company) has been completed under a five-year contract signed in December 2015 by the Russian Ministry of defense with PJSC Sukhoi Company. Under this contract, 10 aircraft were delivered per year from 2016 to 2020.

Taking into account the first contract in 2009 for 48 su-35S, the Russian aerospace forces have received 98 production su-35S since the end of 2012.

As already reported, on August 25, 2020, during the international military-technical forum "Army-2020", the United aircraft Corporation signed a new contract with the Russian Ministry of defense for the supply of 30 more su-35S fighters. According to reports, the first five su-35S under this contract should be delivered to Knaaz in 2021, the remaining 25 aircraft - in 2022-2024.
