Moscow. November 26. INTERFAX-the Russian defense Ministry has received a new batch of T-90M tanks (the latest modification of the t-90 main battle tank), the Ministry said on Thursday.
"The troops received a batch of t-90M "Breakthrough" tanks equipped with a 125-mm smoothbore gun-launcher. This system, used with a complex of guided weapons, is capable of using all existing tank ammunition of this caliber, " the Ministry of defense said in a statement on its website.
According to the military Department, the Kazan higher tank command school received t-72B3M and T-80BVM tanks for training future officers.
"The combined arms and tank formations continue to receive upgraded T-72B3 tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, as well as BTR-82A and BTR-82AM armored personnel carriers," the defense Ministry said.
On April 3, the Russian defense Ministry announced the start of deliveries of t-90M "Breakthrough"tanks to the Russian army. On April 13, the press service of the Western military district reported that the first T-90M was received by the Taman division near Moscow.
The T-90M, in particular, has a new combat turret module and a highly automated digital fire control system. It was reported that the tank is equipped with climate control.
