The m55r diesel-gas turbine unit has successfully passed qualification and acceptance tests. The product was created as part of the import substitution program, it is planned to be installed on the third frigate "Admiral Isakov". This is the first Russian marine unit manufactured exclusively by Russian domestic enterprises.

The creation of the DGTA M55R was carried out in close cooperation with JSC Severnoye PKB. Tests of the Assembly unit with a gearbox, diesel engine and local control systems were carried out in the Assembly and testing complex of ship gas turbine engines and gas turbine units at one of the UEC enterprises.
Viktor Polyakov, Deputy General Director of the UEC, also told the TASS news Agency on November 24, 2020 that the UEC handed over the first fully domestic diesel-gas turbine unit M55R for frigates of project 22350, and that the shipment of the second unit is scheduled for the beginning of December [...] .
"The first unit was shipped in November. Shipment of the second unit is scheduled for the first half of December. Thus, our partners United shipbuilding Corporation and Severnaya Verf will receive a full-fledged power plant for the ship, consisting of two units," he said.
