MOSCOW, Nov 25-RIA Novosti. Key enterprises of the Russian civil aviation industry may be subject to US sanctions for the first time, according to a draft of the corresponding list, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti.
The document specifies more than ten civil aviation companies, including manufacturers of helicopters and aircraft engines, developers and suppliers of aviation materials and air traffic management systems.
We are talking about the sanctions list prepared by the administration of US President Donald trump against 89 Chinese companies that cooperate with the military. The list may also include Russian organizations.
In September of this year, the Ministry of industry and trade announced that foreign suppliers of components for Russian aviation have already refused to cooperate with Russia.
The Ministry attributed this to attempts to stop domestic projects in the field of civil aviation. The next step, according to the forecast of the Ministry of industry and trade, will be restrictions on the supply of microelectronics.
Currently, the Superjet-100 and the advanced MS-21 are being manufactured in Russia using foreign components. The implementation of the last project was delayed, in particular, due to previously imposed sanctions on the manufacturer of the composite wing of the aircraft.
Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov previously did not rule out changes in the structure of the civil aviation industry management in the event of Western sanctions.
