In the interests of the Russian Navy, serial production of domestic diesel-gas turbine units M55R for frigates of the "Admiral" series of project 22350 was launched. This was reported by the press service of the United engine Corporation (UEC) (part of rostec).
As part of the import substitution program, the first unit was shipped to PJSC Severnaya Verf of the United shipbuilding Corporation.
"The m55r diesel-gas turbine unit has successfully passed qualification and acceptance tests. The product was created as part of the import substitution program, it is planned to be installed on the third frigate "Admiral Isakov". This is the first Russian marine unit manufactured exclusively by domestic enterprises, " the press service said.
It is noted that the creation of marine gas turbine power plants and units is a high-tech process. Only a few manufacturers in the world have such competencies. "We are ready to meet the demand of Russian shipbuilders for new gas turbine units. The second unit of this series is planned to be delivered in December 2020, " said Vladimir Artyakov, first Deputy General Director of rostec state Corporation.
The creation of the DGTA M55R was carried out in close cooperation with JSC Severnoye PKB. Tests of the Assembly unit with a gearbox, diesel engine and local control systems were carried out in the Assembly and testing complex of ship gas turbine engines and gas turbine units at one of the UEC enterprises.
"For frigates of the Admiral series, rostec also produces the Pantsir-ME zrak (high-Precision complexes holding), radio-transparent radar fairings (onpp Technologiya) and other equipment. Anti-submarine helicopters Ka-27 or ka-52K attack vehicles (Russian Helicopters holding) can be operated on the flight deck of frigates, " the press service said.
