Moscow. November 24. INTERFAX-the Kazan Nuclear submarine may be included in the Russian Northern fleet by the end of the year if there are no comments at the final stage of testing, industry sources told Interfax on Tuesday.
"It is likely that the submarine will be included in the Navy by the end of the year - in December, if there are no additional comments from the military during the final stage of testing," one of the sources said.
According to another source, the tests of the submarine are expected to last until the end of November.
The day before, the press service of the Russian Northern fleet reported that Kazan fired a Kalibr cruise missile from the White sea at a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers at a target at the Chizha test site in the Arkhangelsk region.
According to the Northern fleet, the submarine entered the final stage of state tests on November 21 with a full-time crew and acceptance team. The crew of the submarine will work out maneuvering in surface and underwater positions, conduct a series of tests of systems and units, as well as weapons systems.
"After the completion of the entire program of state tests, the nuclear-powered submarine missile cruiser Kazan will be accepted into the Russian Navy," the press service of the Northern fleet reported.
Kazan is a multi-purpose submarine, the lead submarine of the Yasen-M project. The submarine was launched in 2017. The deadline for completing the tests was repeatedly postponed.
