Moscow. November 24. INTERFAX-Severnaya Verf Shipyard has received the first domestic diesel gas turbine unit to equip frigates of project 22350 (Admiral Gorshkov type), the Deputy General Director of the United engine Corporation (UEC, part of rostec) Viktor Polyakov.
"This is the finish line of the import substitution program for ship diesel gas turbine units. Today we declare with full responsibility that we produce and supply domestic marine gas turbine units, " Polyakov told reporters.
He recalled that the work was carried out since 2014, when the Russian Federation stopped receiving aggregates from Ukraine and other countries.
"To date, the UEC is able to develop, produce, supply and support the operation of the entire line of marine gas turbine engines in terms of its scientific and technical potential," Polyakov said.
The Deputy Director of the UEC said that Russian developments are better in terms of imported engines previously delivered to the Navy.
Answering a question from journalists about the price of aggregates, Polyakov noted that their cost is slightly lower than that of foreign analogues. "We have a portfolio of orders in the future - for 8-10 sets," Polyakov said.
In turn, Vladimir Artyakov, first Deputy General Director of Rostec, said that only a few manufacturers in the world have such competencies.
"Rostec consistently implements programs for the development of modern engines of all types. The creation of marine gas turbine power plants and units is a high-tech process. Only a few manufacturers in the world have such competencies. We are ready to meet the demand of Russian shipbuilders for new gas turbine units. The second unit of this series is planned to be delivered in December 2020, " Artyakov said
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Federation installed Ukrainian engines on frigates of project 22350 and 11356.
The Navy has two frigates of project 22350-Admiral Kasatonov and Admiral Gorshkov"
The ships of this project are created using stealth technology. they are designed to conduct combat operations in the far ocean zone against surface ships and submarines of the enemy, repel attacks by means of air attack both independently and as part of a combination of ships.
