TSAMTO, November 23. It is planned that the 21180m project icebreaker evpatiy Kolovrat, which is under construction in Saint Petersburg at the Almaz Shipbuilding company, will join the Navy in 2022.

The displacement of the icebreaker "evpatiy Kolovrat" will be 4 thousand tons, the length of the hull-82 m, width-19 m. The evpatiy Kolovrat icebreaker can reach speeds of up to 14 knots. The ship's crew is about 30 people. Autonomous navigation – 1 month. The vessel will be able to break ice 1 meter thick.

"The segment of the military shipbuilding program, which includes equipping the Russian Navy with ships, icebreakers and support vessels, is one of the priorities, taking into account the active development of the Arctic zone by the Navy, ensuring the normal functioning of the Northern sea route, and hydrographic research of the Arctic," the Navy information support Group quotes Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
