The flag of the hydrographic service of the Navy was raised on the large hydrographic boat " Alexander Makorta"

TSAMTO, November 23. On November 21, the main base of the Northern fleet – Severomorsk – hosted a solemn ceremony of raising the flag of the hydrographic service of the Russian Navy on a large hydrographic boat of the project 19920 "Alexander Makorta".

With the flag raised, the boat officially became part of the 44th district of the Northern fleet hydrographic service. The name "Alexander Makarta" assigned to the ship by order of the Chief of the Russian Navy in recognition of and to commemorate the well-known hydrographer, Deputy chief of head Department of navigation and Oceanography Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation kontr-Admiral Alexander Pavlovich Makorty. At the turn of the 80s-90s, Alexander Pavlovich headed the Hydrographic service of the Northern fleet.

He made a huge contribution to the study of the Arctic basin and the Arctic as a whole, under his leadership, studies of the outer limit of the continental shelf were conducted.

The ceremony of raising the flag of the Russian Navy hydrographic service on the Alexander Makort was held under the leadership of the commander of The Northern fleet Hero of Russia, Vice Admiral Alexander Moiseev. He congratulated the boat's crew on the significant event and expressed hope that the crew of the Alexander Makorta will make a worthy contribution to the study of the Arctic seas.

A new large hydrographic boat of the 19920 project was built at the Okskaya Sudoverf shipyard in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The Alexander Makorta boat was laid down on may 31, 2018, and launched in July 2020.

A large hydrographic boat is designed to perform hydrographic and pilotage work in the coastal areas of the seas. It allows you to provide installation, shooting, maintenance and repair of coastal and floating navigation equipment, as well as to deliver personnel, special equipment and cargo to the unequipped coast. This boat has a displacement of about 300 tons, the autonomy is 10 days, the range of navigation is about 1000 miles, the press service of the Northern fleet reports.
