In the latest edition of the program "Military acceptance" on the TV channel "Zvezda", the capabilities of combat boats manufactured by the Kalashnikov concern-BK-10 and BK-16 were demonstrated. the Numbers in this case indicate the length of the vessel in meters.
These boats have been produced in Russia for several years, mainly for the Navy, but also recently supplied to Regardie and are popular with foreign buyers. The task of both is to quickly deliver the troops (10 and 19 fighters, respectively)and support the landing with machine guns. The goal of the operation may be a coast captured by the enemy or a ship held by pirates.
Boats can work alone, but ideally should go into battle in pairs. In this case, as shown in the transmission, the scheme can be as follows. The heavier and better armored BK-16 approaches the coastline first and calls fire on itself. At this moment, the faster BK-10 jumps out from behind his "back" and delivers the first group of troops to land. That, having taken a position, provides a cover landing of colleagues from the second boat.
Demonstration of speed characteristics and maneuverability of boats took place at the Rybinsk reservoir. So, the peculiarity of the BK-10 is its amazing stability - at the steepest turns at a speed of 25-30 knots, the boat felt confident. As the designers say, it will not tip over even in the most extreme conditions.
It also demonstrated the operation of boats in blackout mode, when they go with the lights off, which allows you to get close to the enemy as unexpectedly as possible. In this case, the control room is closed with curtains, and navigation is carried out using infrared vision devices.
