The helicopters have passed all necessary ground and flight tests
MOSCOW, November 19. /TASS/. Russian Helicopters holding (part of rostec) has completed the transfer of Ka-52 helicopters as part of the state defense order for 2020. This was reported on Thursday in the press service of the holding.
"AAK [Arseniev aviation company] Progress named after N. I. Sazykin of the Russian Helicopters holding (part of the rostec state Corporation) has handed over to the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation all Ka-52 alligator combat reconnaissance and attack helicopters planned for delivery in 2020 in accordance with the terms and conditions of the state contract, "Russian Helicopters reported.
Within the contract period the helicopters have passed all required ground and flight tests, as well as the procedure of registration of documents on receipt of equipment, after which the cars were adopted by representatives of the Ministry of defense. "Currently, combat vehicles are being prepared to be sent to places of permanent deployment," the holding explained.
"This year was not easy for us, first of all, from the point of view of the epidemiological situation. Despite all the difficulties in the conditions of the pandemic, we managed not only to fulfill all the obligations under the state contract on time, but also to lift our first upgraded Ka-52M alligator into the sky, "Yuri Denisenko, managing Director of AAK Progress, is quoted in the holding as saying.
Ka-52M
As previously reported by the General Director of Russian Helicopters Andrey Boginsky, the company started development work on the modernization of the Ka-52 helicopter, taking into account the experience of its combat use, on behalf of the Russian defense Minister last year. According to him, the Ka-52M missile armament is unified with the armament of another newest mi-28NM helicopter, which has significantly increased the range of hitting targets.
The holding specified that the new Ka-52M helicopter has an upgraded optoelectronic system with an increased range of target detection and recognition and a new digital drive that increases the accuracy of the gun. The upgraded Ka-52 also received a new radar system with an active phased array antenna and an extended-range guided missile.
The propeller blades are equipped with a more powerful heating element, which allows the helicopter to be used in Arctic conditions. The new interior of the cockpit is adapted for piloting in the dark with night vision glasses.
