Moscow. November 19. INTERFAX-AVN-the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation this year ahead of schedule received all batches of equipment "Ratnik", delivered about 18 thousand sets, reported on Thursday in the state Corporation "rostec".
"The Central research Institute of precision engineering (TSNIITOCHMASH) fulfilled its obligations under the contract under the state defense order for 2020 for the supply of Ratnik equipment for the needs of the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation a month ahead of schedule. Almost 18,000 sets of combat equipment have been delivered to the Armed forces, and there are no claims or complaints," the Rostec press service reported.
They noted that the set of combat equipment for the completed contracts of the Institute includes 14 elements.
"The state defense order, despite all the difficulties associated with the pandemic and the restrictions imposed, was completed ahead of schedule. "Ratnik" - advanced equipment, without which it is impossible to imagine a modern soldier. It includes not only uniforms, but also electronics that help conduct intelligence and transmit data in real time, protective equipment made of light and strong composite materials, modern small arms," said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial Director of the Rostec cluster of weapons, ammunition and special chemicals, whose words were quoted in the press service.
"Ratnik" has been delivered to the troops since 2014.
The equipment consists of five complexes integrated with each other, including the systems of life support, control and communication, destruction, protection and power supply. It is designed to operate in various climatic conditions at any time of the day. During operation, almost all elements of equipment are regularly refined and delivered to the troops.
The Ratnik bulletproof vest can withstand ten hits from an armor-piercing incendiary sniper bullet and AK74 Kalashnikov bullets from ten meters away.
In 2019, Rostec reported that JSC "Tsniitochshmash" in 2020 plans to open development work (R & d) to create a third-generation combined-arms equipment - "Sotnik".
"According to the plans, the third-generation set "Sotnik" should replace "Ratnik" in 2025. This will be a fundamentally new equipment that will integrate the best high-tech developments of Russian enterprises, including those belonging to rostec, " said Sergey Chemezov, General Director of the state Corporation.
