The rocket firing took place in the first half of the day in the White sea. The target, located at the Chizha test site in the Arkhangelsk region at a distance of more than 1 thousand km from the launch point, was successfully hit by the head of the Kalibr cruise missile, " the statement said.
It is noted that the vessels of the Belomorskaya naval base of the Northern fleet performed protection of the water area and controlled the shooting.
The frigate Admiral Kasatonov was built at the Severnaya Verf shipyard in Saint Petersburg. The ship was commissioned into the fleet on July 21.
Earlier, in September, the crew of the black sea fleet frigate Admiral Makarov conducted air defense exercises in the Mediterranean sea.
