The Russian army is expecting the delivery of a new batch of t-90M "Breakthrough"tanks. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of defense of the country.
The t-90M "Breakthrough" is equipped with a 125 mm smoothbore gun-launcher. This system can use all existing tank ammunition of this caliber. In addition, it is used with a complex of guided weapons.
In total, in 2020, the Russian ground forces will receive more than 300 units of armored vehicles, as well as BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-82A and BTR-82AM armored personnel carriers. Now the combined arms and tank formations continue to receive upgraded T-72B3M tanks.
It is assumed that until 2025, modern versions of the T-90M, T-72B3M, and T-80BVM will be on par with the main battle tanks of other countries, and then they will need to continue their modernization.
Earlier it was reported THAT the t-90M "Breakthrough" during the modernization plan to equip the active protection system "arena-M". In addition, the survivability of the tank in battle wants to increase due to additional rigid containers of dynamic protection, which will be placed on the sides of the tank. Scientists propose to equip the car with electromagnetic protection and a complex of counteraction to anti-tank guidance systems, which was previously installed on the Armata.
