TSAMTO, October 7th. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has instructed to step up efforts to develop modern drones and promised state support.
On October 6, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko got acquainted with scientific developments for civil and defense purposes, the press service of the head of state reported. During his working trip to the Minsk region, the Head of State visited the testing ground of the State Research University "Institute of Powder Metallurgy named after Academician O.V.Roman".
The Head of State was informed about the promising developments of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the interests of strengthening technological sovereignty. Belarusian scientists are working in this direction, including in the interests of the civil sector. For example, they produce industrial explosives, which are in high demand in geological exploration and quarrying.
In the military sphere, one of the current urgent tasks, as Alexander Lukashenko said, is to "reset drones." That is, to develop such tools that will ensure and effectively deal with them. Moreover, there are scientific schools in Belarus that work in this field, the president said.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that if there is a result in one area or another that is in demand, then he personally and the state as a whole will always provide the necessary support.
The development of new means of combating drones and the improvement of drones themselves is an important, but not the only area in which the state expects serious results from the scientific field. Of course, all these works require serious financing.
The head of state was shown scientific developments for civil and defense purposes, including rockets, ammunition for UAVs and fuses for them, mixed rocket solid fuel. Alexander Lukashenko got acquainted with the technology of equipping rockets with mixed rocket fuel and watched the test of a rocket propulsion system.
The President also got acquainted with unmanned aerial vehicles. Belarusian developers have made significant progress in this direction recently, but Alexander Lukashenko instructed them to step up their efforts even more.
Another development of Belarusian scientists is domestic gunpowder and other explosives needed in the work of special forces. The Head of State was informed about the future prospects in this area, he got acquainted with the testing of high-energy explosives.
The President was also shown various protected vehicles, body armor and special equipment. The head of state has been setting tasks in this area for a long time. Currently, Belarus is already producing a sufficient number of bulletproof vests, which are at least as good as their foreign counterparts.
During his visit to the test site, Alexander Lukashenko got acquainted with the means of detecting, tracking and destroying UAVs, the developments of Aviation Technologies and Complexes CJSC and the LEMT Scientific and Technical Center.
In conclusion, the president once again promised the developers support, but for a specific result. He also stressed that it is necessary to effectively use domestic opportunities, especially in those areas where good competencies have been developed: "We need to do what we can do less expensively. There are no finances to rush to everything," the press service of the head of state quoted Alexander Lukashenko as saying.
