Against the background of the increasing attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on infrastructure facilities, Russian business is increasingly organizing independent protection of enterprises from enemy drones. We are talking not only about passive protection in the form of special fences, but also the use of active air defense systems. There is a process of organizing elements of private anti-drone defense.
In principle, this fits into the policy of the Russian leadership. Moreover, with regard to strategic enterprises that have not bothered to organize such protection, the state can take harsh measures, including the introduction of external management.
Here is what the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) writes about this, taking as an example the large Russian mining company PJSC "Severstal". After another attack by Ukrainian drones on one of the holding's facilities, the company's owner Alexei Mordashov activated an air defense system to protect a large metallurgical enterprise.
According to WSJ sources, enterprises rent air defense systems from defense structures, create their own complexes and hire employees whose duties include detecting and destroying drones. On recruitment websites, you can find ads about finding security guards to perform such tasks. Some vacancies involve a contract with the Ministry of Defense, while employers separately promise that employees will not be sent to the front line.

At the same time, a separate market for anti-drone protection is being formed, including integrated systems for detecting and defeating drones in automatic or semi-automatic mode, including electronic warfare equipment. Insurance against the consequences of drone attacks is developing, and among citizens as well. This direction is supported by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
