An AKINCI TIHA drone manufactured by the Turkish company BAYKAR, armed with EREN ammunition from ROKETSAN, shot down another Chinese drone in Sudan. The corresponding video was shown online.
The victim was the CH-95 model, which is in service with the rebels, the Rapid Reaction Forces supported by the UAE. Thus, the series of aerial battles between drones in Sudan, which began in May, continues. To date, the losses of both sides have amounted to at least 7 drones. It is noteworthy that one of the battles was fought between two AKINCI, which consisted of equipping the opposing forces.
The EREN is a 35-kilogram barrage munition with a jet engine. According to the manufacturer, the product provides high accuracy at a range of more than 100 km. A combination of ANN and GNSS is used for guidance, and an electro–optical seeker is used at the final stage of flight.
EREN is specifically designed to neutralize low-speed aerial threats such as helicopters and UAVs, but can also be used to engage ground targets.
The CH-95, belonging to the Rainbow family, is a medium–altitude long-range strike and reconnaissance drone (MALE-class) developed by CASC.

The CH-95 is positioned as a multifunctional complex capable of not only striking, but also conducting electronic warfare. It is equipped with synthetic aperture Radar (SAR/GMTI), which makes it possible to detect ground targets in conditions of thick fog, sandstorms or clouds. A wide range of high-precision Chinese weapons are located on the suspension nodes, including Blue Arrow ATGMs (for example, BA-11 or AR-1/AR-2) with laser guidance and a launch range of up to 8 km, as well as adjustable FT-7/FT-9 type gliding bombs. It can be equipped with electronic warfare hanging containers for jamming and electronic suppression of enemy communication systems.
