The mobile robotic complex is able to increase welding efficiency by 57%.
Rostec State Corporation presented an industrial robot capable of significantly improving the efficiency of welding operations as part of the V intra-corporate championship of professional skills "Time of the First".
The mobile robotic welding complex was created by CEDAR based on the DOKA RC10 collaborative robot arm developed by ROBOPRO— a partner of Rostec State Corporation.
During the championship, Rostec specialists were able to try themselves as operators of a robotic welding complex: set up equipment, program its trajectory, and monitor welding quality.
The robotic system provides perfectly smooth and stable seams, high accuracy and productivity, and can work around the clock 24/7, without days off or breaks. According to the test results of the complex, the productivity of one workplace increased by 57%, the equipment load increased to 90%, the production time was reduced by three times, and the scrap volume decreased to virtually zero.
At the same time, the robot's capabilities are not limited to welding. Due to the change of technological equipment, it can be adapted for moving parts, applying materials, quality control and performing other production operations.
It should be recalled that in February of this year, the robotic welding complex was presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
"Our goal is to create technologies that help businesses operate more efficiently. RTK "CEDAR is just such a domestic solution for modern industry," said Andrey Viktorov, Executive Director of CEDAR.
The results of the pilot application of the welding robot will become the basis for the development of new qualification standards. The traditional profession of a 6th-class welder is being transformed into a whole range of new specialties: an operator-adjuster of collaborative welding systems, an engineer-technologist for digital twins, an architect of welding processes, an expert in AI diagnostics and adaptive welding. The development of these standards is planned to be carried out with the participation of the Agency for the Development of Professional Skills and the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
The state corporation pays great attention to modern means of production, in particular robotics. ROBOPRO annually produces up to 550 robots, and by 2030 this figure should reach 6,000 robots per year. The localization of robotics is about 75%. Robots are used not only within the Corporation, but also supplied to other customers.
The Time of the Firsts Championship is one of Rostec's key initiatives aimed at developing young professionals and strengthening the professional community in the industrial sector. The competition is attended by employees of Rostec State Corporation enterprises, as well as schoolchildren and students of partner colleges. This year, the championship broke records in terms of the number of participants: 5.5 thousand specialists from 16 Corporate holdings representing 45 regions and 67 cities of Russia competed in 29 competencies.
