The German company Click & Power GmbH has introduced a new development for mobile delivery and provision of electricity for equipment and military equipment in the field, including combat operations areas. Alexander Shvan, the company's executive director, told NextGenDefense about the technical characteristics of the power plant.
The device, called AKKU Trailer, is based on a low-profile compact automobile trailer with a lifting capacity of 1.5 tons. It is equipped with a 400 Volt AKKUboard rechargeable battery capable of delivering up to 88 kilowatts of alternating current and 230 kilowatts of direct current. The entire system weighs 3.5 tons, which allows transportation by trucks or military equipment.
One of the advantages of the mobile system is the ability to easily disguise a compact semi-trailer with equipment. All elements of the complex can be quickly assembled and disassembled without the use of loading and unloading equipment, which is important for operational deployment in the field of a real combat situation.
Unlike larger energy containers or generator-based systems, AKKU Trailer's acoustic, thermal, and visual visibility is significantly reduced. After the trailer is delivered to the desired location, the towing vehicle remains available for other tasks.
Once deployed, the complex can operate as an advanced energy node, charging unmanned ground vehicles, UAVs and providing continuous power supply to communications, electronic warfare systems, sensors and command posts.
