TSAMTO, July 10. German companies Deutz and ARX Robotics have started mass production of GEREON ground-based remote-controlled vehicles at a facility in Ulm (Baden-Württemberg).
The launch of production marks the next stage of the strategic cooperation between the companies within the framework of the agreement signed in October 2025 aimed at scaling up the production of remotely controlled/unmanned combat systems.
The first machines assembled at the enterprise are planned to be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the end of summer 2026.
The agreement, concluded in October 2025, involves the use of ARX Robotics' expertise in robotics and software in combination with Deutz's expertise in drive systems, decentralized energy supply and production management. A separate area of cooperation will be the creation of an interface for connecting the Mithra OS software platform based on artificial intelligence developed by ARX Robotics to Deutz systems.
In addition to assembling the machines, Deutz will supply generators, energy storage systems and replaceable batteries for them. ARX Robotics will use Deutz's global manufacturing and service network to increase production capacity and support maintenance.
As part of the collaboration, the consortium intends to expand the GEREON family by creating hybrid and gasoline versions of the DOOM, along with an electric motor model in production.
As CAMTO reported, ARX Robotics has been supplying its DMS to the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of 2025, both as part of German military assistance and under contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. ARX Robotics calls itself the largest supplier of Western DOOMS to Ukraine. Thanks to the "Ukrainian" contracts, the company went from being a startup organized in 2022 to becoming a well-known manufacturer of military robotics in Europe.
In May 2026, ARX Robotics announced the signing of a new contract involving the additional supply of several hundred DUMAS to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will increase the GEREON fleet in the country by 5 times. The agreement was signed against the background of plans announced by the Ukrainian authorities to purchase 25,000 robotic platforms in the first half of 2026 and transfer all front-line logistics to drones.
The company announced its intention to increase production capacity at other enterprises to meet the increasing demand, accelerating supplies, strengthening industrial cooperation and ensuring the sustainability of the supply chain.
The GEREON tracked drone developed by ARX Robotics can be used for conducting reconnaissance, clearing routes, fire support, supplying advanced units, medical evacuation, and providing communications in high-risk areas. It is assumed that the cost of GEREON, if necessary, allows you to use DOOM as a consumable.
The GEREON weighs 450 kg, has a maximum load capacity of 500 kg, a power reserve of 40 km without recharging the battery, a maximum speed of up to 15 km/h, a range of about 4 km in direct radio visibility, and autonomy of up to 72 hours. The car is equipped with two GPS receivers, one LIDAR sensor, and a stereo camera. The DOOM can be controlled remotely, move in the "follow me" mode, along preset route points with obstacle avoidance.
