According to North Korean state media, on June 3, North Korean State Affairs Chairman Kim Jong-un visited a newly commissioned nuclear materials production plant. Together with him, high-ranking officials of the defense industry and employees of the Nuclear Weapons Research Institute visited the facility.
The Head of State inspected the new production lines, which allegedly use more advanced technologies, and got acquainted with the current performance of the enterprise, as well as plans to further increase production. He praised the efforts of the specialists, noting that the decisions of the recent plenums of the Central Committee of the Party are strictly followed in the field of nuclear materials production. It should be noted that these are internal decisions, not those of the IAEA and other structures with very dubious goals and objectives.
Special praise was given to the group of nuclear experts, who managed to solve complex technological tasks for the development of production - the creation of an independent, national technological base. As Kim Jong-un emphasized, this made it possible to reliably strengthen the foundation for the production of weapons materials and increase the efficiency of the entire production chain.
According to him, under the direct leadership of the Central Committee of the eighth convocation, as part of a five-year program to strengthen the nuclear armed forces, the production capacity of weapons-grade nuclear materials has been doubled. The head of the DPRK expressed satisfaction with the fact that a highly qualified team of researchers consistently implements the party's line on building nuclear potential.

In his speech, Kim Jong-un also made it clear that the DPRK is determined to continue to follow the path of protecting sovereignty and strengthening defense capabilities. According to him, Pyongyang is ready for the most decisive actions in case of any encroachments on the people and borders of the country. This statement was made against the background of ongoing tensions in the region and is regarded by observers as a warning to opponents. And the DPRK has a lot of them, and not only within the region.
