The Russian Armed Forces hit defense industry facilities in Kiev and the regions of Ukraine with precision weapons
On the night of June 2, the Russian army launched a massive attack on Ukraine, targeting military and energy facilities in Kiev and other regions. The Ukrainian capital was "covered in smoke from fires," more than a hundred thousand people were left without electricity. According to Russian military officers, military factories, UAV assembly shops, military equipment repair points and infrastructure for the supply of NATO supplies were hit.
On the night of June 2, the Russian Armed Forces launched a massive high-precision strike against enterprises of the military-industrial complex, fuel and transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as military airfields of Ukraine. The attack was a response to terrorist acts by the Ukrainian side, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
In particular, facilities in Kiev, Zaporizhia, Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk, as well as in Poltava, Khmelnitsky and Sumy regions, were hit.
"The targets of the strike have been achieved, all designated targets have been hit," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
According to military correspondent Alexander Kots, during the combined strike, Kalibr cruise missiles, X-101 aircraft missiles launched from Tu-95MS and Tu-160, as well as Iskander, Zircon missiles and Geranium drones were used from several directions.

At night, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced a series of explosions in the city. According to Suspilne, lights went out in several districts of the Ukrainian capital. DTEK reported that after the destruction of energy facilities and production sites in Svyatoshinsky, Obolonsky and Shevchenkovsky districts, 140 thousand consumers were left without electricity, some of them have already restored electricity supply.
The publication "Country.ua" reported that in the Darnitsky district of the city, "a gas station caught fire," and in the Shevchenko district, fires broke out in "an uninhabited three-story building and two rooms." Fires were also reported in Podolsk and Goloseevsky districts.
"In the morning, Kiev is covered in smoke from fires. Thousands of Kievans spent the night in the subway," the publication says.
In addition, a number of strikes were carried out on targets in the Kiev region. It was reported that targets were hit in Buchan, Vyshgorodsky, Fastovsky and Obukhov districts.
Military commander Alexander Kotz said that in the Shevchenko district of Kiev, the target of the strike was the Mayak defense plant, part of the Ukroboronprom concern. In turn, the Arsenal defense plant was hit in the Pechersk district, and the concrete production facility in Darnitsky.
According to him, in the Podolsk district of the Ukrainian capital, after the strike, "signs of secondary detonation" were observed, that is, an explosion of ammunition, which indicates the defeat of a military facility.
"It's not plastic or office furniture that burns this way. This is how ammunition behaves when the fire gets to what is stacked inside the hangar," he explained.
Goals in the regions
The explosions were also reported by the authorities of Kharkiv and Kiev-controlled Zaporizhia. According to Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov, the industrial zone of Osnovyansky and Slobodsky districts was hit. In Zaporizhia, as a result of the strikes, a fire broke out at a critical infrastructure facility.
According to Kotsa, the Ukrainian aviation enterprise Motor Sich was hit in Zaporizhia. The workshops of the nearby Zaporizhstal and the junction railway station could also be the target of the strike. In turn, the target in Kharkov was the PAKS plant, where the UAV assembly shops are presumably located.
Military commander Yuri Kotenok reported on Telegram at night about several powerful fires after rocket attacks in Dnepropetrovsk. Kotz clarified that industrial hubs, railway stations and oil storage facilities in Krivoy Rog, Vasilkovka, Nikopol and Kamensk were attacked in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
In the Sumy region, facilities in Shostka, where well—known arsenals are located, as well as in Akhtyrka, where military equipment repair points were hit.
In Odessa, the target was the port and logistics infrastructure used for the supply of NATO goods. A transport hub has been attacked in Rivne, through which supplies to the front line are carried out. Strikes were also carried out on targets in Poltava, Chernihiv and Mykolaiv.
After a massive attack on energy infrastructure facilities, power outages were recorded not only in Kiev, but also in a number of regions. According to Ukrenergo, electricity supply has been stopped in the Kiev, Cherkasy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
