The US military uses artificial intelligence not only in the strategic planning of complex operations, but also at the operational and tactical level. In particular, AI is used by the US Army to process intelligence.
Chris Livesey, a correspondent for the CBS News news channel, attended the exercises of the US military in Morocco, during which the US Armed Forces use artificial intelligence to process information about the course of hostilities in real time. During the largest maneuvers in Africa, the US military deployed autonomous robotic systems controlled by neural networks.
Artificial intelligence processes information coming from the battlefield in real time, makes decisions and gives commands to unmanned aerial vehicles and ground complexes to carry out coordinated attacks.

General Dagwin Anderson, head of the African Command of the US Armed Forces (AFRICOM), told a reporter that most of the army's defensive systems have already been automated. According to the military commander, deadly technologies are developing at lightning speed, faster than the rules of war are changing. However, not all decisions are yet trusted by artificial intelligence, General Anderson said.:
Recently, the American company Palantir Technologies introduced the advanced artificial intelligence platform Maven Smart System (MSS) for the integration of intelligence and combat management. The software platform combines data from multiple sources, including satellites, drones, and radio intercepts, in a single digital interface. This reduces the time from target detection to strike, automating the decision-making process. The use of MSS, in particular, makes it possible to reduce the number of analysts tenfold for making operational and tactical decisions during military operations.
