The installation of such modular gas turbine power plants is carried out three times faster than stationary facilities.
UEC Engineering (part of the United Engine Corporation of Rostec State Corporation) has proposed the use of prefabricated gas turbine power plants based on the NK-37 engine in energy-deficient regions of Russia. This solution will allow the construction of modular gas turbine power plants three times faster than stationary facilities that are being built according to individual projects. It may also become a standard for an industry order, the formation of which is being discussed by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
At the Goszakaz-2026 forum and exhibition, UEC Engineering proposed including prefabricated gas turbine power plants based on NK-37 in the line of equipment designed to create a federal mobile power reserve. This reserve will consist of electricity generation equipment that can be moved to energy-deficient regions of Russia.
The NK-37 engine, developed and manufactured by the Samara-based ODK-Kuznetsov enterprise, combines high efficiency, reliability and low operating costs. On its basis, UEC Engineering is creating a fundamentally new line of energy equipment — pre-built gas turbine power plants with a capacity of 25 MW and 32 MW. The equipment is capable of running on natural gas or diesel fuel, is adapted to extreme climatic conditions and requires minimal site preparation. Due to the high specific power and compact dimensions, modular GTES can be deployed in the shortest possible time. Thus, the installation of a prefabricated power plant according to a standard project takes 60 days. Stationary GTES on an individual project require up to 180 days.

The decision to create a federal mobile capacity reserve is being considered as part of the formation of an industry order in the energy sector. This is part of a new government policy to ensure technological sovereignty and a long-term planning tool that should link energy development plans with government support measures for manufacturers of domestic equipment.
