At the SAHA Expo 2026 in Istanbul, the Turkish company MKE presented the URAN self-propelled artillery system, mounted on a light wheeled platform and designed to be deployed as part of highly mobile forces.
The product consists of a 105-mm BORAN howitzer from MKE mounted on the chassis of a lightly armored KLTV 4x4 vehicle from South Korean KIA. According to the developer, the system provides up to 12 rounds per minute at targets at a distance of up to 18 km (at the same time, 105-mm shells with a bottom gas generator are being developed to increase the firing distance to 20 km and above). The CAO is equipped with an Aselsan missile defense system from Turkey, equipped with an INS, which allows it to fire without lengthy procedures for tying to the terrain.
The crew consists of 3-5 people. The tank is transported directly in the back of the car, which makes the URAN a fully autonomous firing unit.

The layout and performance characteristics of the URAN, which operates on the "shoot and run" principle, suggest the possibility of quickly completing a combat mission before the enemy can launch a counter-battery strike or use drones to defeat the ACS. It takes less than 60 seconds to get ready for combat, and less than 45 seconds to leave the position after firing. Due to its speed and small size, it is designed primarily for rapid reaction forces.
URAN is the Turkish response to the concept of "artillery ambush". According to the developer, the product is optimally suited for destroying roadblocks, places where equipment accumulates or warehouses, when it is necessary to deliver a lightning strike and disappear.
