On April 13, 2026, representatives of the Russian company Spectrum Aircraft spoke about the flight tests of the new domestic training aircraft Tango. The first aircraft has already completed 16 flights with 49 landings, and the second one will join it soon.
According to the developers, the first RT.003 aircraft is currently on flight tests, its total flight time is approaching 10 hours. The Tango was checked for taxiing and high-speed runs, completed takeoffs and its first full flight. We have worked out the definition of aerodynamic LDPE corrections and take-off and landing characteristics. We checked stability, handling, acceleration, deceleration and the speed of the most advantageous climb ("teeth"). The engine life of the first flight model exceeded 18 hours.
Earlier, Russian media reported that in February 2026, a mock-up commission of the Aviation Registry was held with the participation of the developer and key suppliers, which resulted in a list of comments. This is a key step towards the start of certification tests and further obtaining a type certificate for the Tango aircraft. The S7 Group of Companies continues to prepare documentation on the requirements of FAP-21 (section J). From March 25 to March 27, the Federal Air Transport Agency checked the company for compliance with the requirements for issuing an aviation Technology Developer certificate.

In April 2026, the trim sensors and flaps will be finalized, after which the machine will continue the flight test program. Also, the second PT.005 is preparing to join the already flying PT.003. The tests are being conducted in Novosibirsk at the S.A. Chaplygin SibNIA, where photos of this material were taken.
