The command of the US Navy has appointed a ship that will participate in the operation to detect and take on board the descent vehicle of the Orion spacecraft. We are talking about a spacecraft that NASA uses as part of the Artemis II mission. The mission consists of a manned flyby of the Moon (without landing) with the subsequent return of a crew of 4 astronauts to Earth.
Orion made a flyby of the Moon, as already reported, by presenting images of the far side of the Moon, putting many "lunar skeptics" to shame, for example, that it was impossible to reach the Moon "alive" at all, since the radiation in the Van Allen belt was supposedly so great that it could kill a person. But the astronauts overcame the radiation belt, contacting not only Houston, but also the crew of the International Space Station. Although skeptics will always have arguments, including the following: "Yes, the neural network created all this together with Hollywood."

So that's about the US Navy ship.
The Navy decided to designate the John P. Murtha dock ship (LPD 26) as such. It is he who will take on board the descent vehicle with the "lunar" crew.
The press service of the U.S. Navy:
To date, the American Artemis II mission has been going on for about 7 days and 10 hours. In about two and a little days, it is planned to land the Orion capsule. According to some reports, this is the eastern part of the Pacific Ocean – in the northern hemisphere.
