During the exercises in the United States, the Altius-700 attack and reconnaissance drone was launched from an AH-64 Apache helicopter. Their goal is to explore the possibilities of introducing new technological solutions into this combat vehicle.
This was reported by the Western edition of NextGen Defense.
The tests took place at the Yuma Proving Ground (YPG). The UAV, acting as a barrage munition, hit several different targets. The devices were launched both from a place and in motion. This demonstration once again demonstrated that such interaction makes it possible to use unmanned systems for combat operations without risking the lives of soldiers.
The Altius-700 is a 7–inch UAV capable of performing visual and electronic reconnaissance, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. It can stay in the air for up to four hours and operate at a distance of up to 460 kilometers.

The device is also capable of performing striking functions, delivering high-precision and powerful strikes against large and well-protected targets, including tanks, vehicles, ships and infrastructure facilities.
The US Army pays great attention to the modernization of Apache helicopters and the expansion of their combat capabilities. So, last year, exercises were held with the participation of upgraded AH-64E Apache V6 vehicles. During the successful tests, the ability of this helicopter to counter enemy drones was tested. This modification is equipped with a Longbow radar, advanced optoelectronic and infrared equipment, and has received support for Link16 network data exchange, as well as MUMT-X technology for interacting with slave UAVs.
