The Israeli Army is suffering losses in Merkava Mk4M tanks in southern Lebanon. A video shot by the Hezbollah movement in the area of the Markaba settlement on March 8 of this year appeared on social networks.
It shows how the operator fires a shot from the Almas 1 third-generation anti-tank system. The rocket makes a "slide" and then dives directly into the open hatch of the tank.
The ATGM, which is essentially an analog of the Israeli Spike-LR, can independently aim at a target, but in this case the flight took place in manual mode, which allowed it to hit a vulnerable spot.

This modification of the 65-ton tank is equipped with the Trophy active protection system, which is supposed to intercept various ammunition flying up to the combat vehicle, but this time KAZ seemed to be powerless. It is not yet known what happened to the crew, but those in the tower are unlikely to have survived.
The Almas 1 ATGM has a range of 4,000 m. The length of the rocket is 1100 mm, the diameter is 130 mm. The existing tandem warhead penetrates 600 mm of armor.
