MRCV animation surrounded by drones

Victory was launched at Singapore's Benoi shipyard by ST Engineering, the first representative of a series of six "multi–purpose warships" (MRCVS) under construction for the country's Navy starting in March 2023. The head of the military department, Chang Chun Xing, compared it to a fictional spaceship, pointing out that it looks like the battlestar Galaktika.

With a length of 150 m, a width of up to 21 m and a displacement of 8000 tons, Victory will be the largest pennant in the fleet. The range is 7 thousand nautical miles. The amphibious compartment can accommodate up to eight 20-foot containers for various purposes, for example, to solve specific combat missions or provide assistance in natural disasters.

Launching of the MRCV Victory

The MRCV is positioned as a symbiosis of a frigate and a "mother ship" carrying unmanned aerial, surface and underwater vehicles. As the Minister of Defense explained, this concept reminds him of science fiction – the flight will be accompanied by a swarm of drones. They will perform an impressive list of tasks that, in the absence of drones, would require several manned ships.

There is a loading and unloading system in the stern, and cranes designed for deploying small boats and unmanned vessels on the sides. UAVs and helicopters will use the large flight deck at the stern.

Victory class corvettes of the same name

The ship's armament includes a 76-mm Leonardo Strales naval cannon, two remote-controlled Rafael Typhoon MK 30c artillery systems. MICA and Aster missiles will provide air cover. The type of anti-ship missile was not disclosed, most likely, it will be Blue Spear from Proteus.

Due to the active introduction of technologies, including AI, the number of crew is less than 100 people.

The MRCVS, the first of which will be delivered in 2028, are being built to replace six Victory missile corvettes of the same type, which have been in service with the Singapore Navy since the 1990s.
