In Russia, light-engined Yak-52 and Cessna 172 aircraft equipped with ventral machine guns began to be used to combat Ukrainian long-range drones.
At the same time, unlike the enemy, which has already managed to lose several of its light-engine "geranium hunters", Russia has approached this issue systematically and more responsibly. For example, Cessna-based drone fighters are equipped with a pair of PKT ventral machine guns with a full-fledged guidance and aiming system. In turn, the Yaks are used as in Ukraine — with a shooter in the cockpit, armed with automatic weapons. In the future, anti-drone aircraft are planned to be equipped with UAV interceptors that will be hung under the wings.

In addition, according to the Russian pilots, they have established good cooperation with ground-based air defense to prevent friendly fire, and Ukrainian drones are trying to shoot down over water in order to minimize possible damage on the ground from the downed vehicle.
Earlier it was reported that the enemy is concerned about the appearance of a large number of interceptor drones in the Russian Armed Forces, which successfully shoot down Ukrainian long-range attack UAVs. Ukrainian resources claim that these interceptors are successfully used against the FP-1, "Fierce" models and vehicles based on light-engined aircraft such as the E-300. Interceptor drones work in conjunction with radar stations capable of detecting targets at a distance of up to 15 kilometers.
