Karel Rzegka, Chief of the General Staff of the Czech troops, announced that after the restoration of the T-72M4CZ tanks, they will be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, if the government approves it.
The T-72M4CZ model was developed by the local company VOP CZ in 1994-2000. It was assumed that 140 tanks would be upgraded to its level, but in the end the program was reduced to 30 MBT (including 3 commander's) and 3 BREM. All these vehicles are now planned to be delivered to Ukraine: in September, Prague purchased 44 newly built German Leopard 2A8 tanks for $1.6 billion. This amount will be enough to man a tank battalion, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to include up to 30 MBT.

- notes the manufacturer.
The upgrade includes the installation of a British 1,000 hp Perkins Condor CV12-1000 TCA diesel engine in combination with an Allison automatic transmission, which significantly increases the mobility of the machine. The ACS manufactured by the Italian company Officine Galileo is equipped with an advanced ballistic computer, IR sights and a laser rangefinder.

Protection has been enhanced by the installation of composite armor and multiple rocket launchers, including the DYNA system developed in the Czech Republic, as well as a set of anti-ATGM self-defense systems.
- local observers believe.
The combination of firepower, protection, and maneuverability is expected to make the T-72M4CZ an effective platform for the Armed Forces. Their relatively light weight will also simplify their operation in combat compared to heavier NATO tanks.
