During the "Force of Unity" military parade, Serbia showed off its most modern MBT M-84AS3 to date.
The M-84AS3 is a deeply upgraded M-84 platform, which, in turn, is a Yugoslav variant of the Soviet T-72. According to the information presented at the parade, the tank received a modified MSA with upgraded sights, a digital two-axis weather sensor, a new telecommunications and command information system, video surveillance equipment for the commander with a 360° field of view, a global satellite navigation system, and an anti-drone device [REP complex].

Other improvements include new shells for the 125–mm cannon (armor-piercing and OFS), the removal of ammunition behind the turret, the installation of a remotely controlled combat station with a 12.7-mm machine gun, the installation of a new generation of modular DZ, an automatic subsystem for protection against fuel ignition and fire, an engine protection subsystem, an additional 7.5 kV electric unit, forged biaxial tracks with a service life of up to 4,000 km, camouflage coating that protects the tank in the infrared and radio frequency ranges. One of the most notable innovations is the "hard kill" class active protection system.

The M-84AS3 prototype has a claimed combat weight of 48.5 tons, maximum engine power ranges from 840 to 1,000 hp, and a maximum speed of 60 km/h.
Changes to the platform include strengthening the structure and upgrading the armor protection. The rear part of the hull and the turret are now equipped with box armor, while the frontal part retains additional mounted protective modules that were previously used.
