What happened?

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces stated: "During Russia's overnight attack on Ukraine, Russian UAVs that repeatedly violated Polish airspace were shot down."

As part of the NATO mission, an Airbus A330 tanker transport aircraft of the Netherlands Air Force and an AWACS aircraft of the Italian Air Force took off from Eindhoven and Estonia, respectively, and patrolled Polish airspace all night. An American F-35 fighter jet was also reported to be on patrol over the Rzeszów Jasienka airport in southeastern Poland.
