September 8 this year marked the 10th anniversary of the installation of a memorial plaque at No. 12 Leningradsky Prospekt in Moscow, dedicated to Pavel Andreevich Voronin, an outstanding organizer of the Russian aircraft industry... Pavel Voronin, Lenin Prize laureate, twice Hero of Socialist Labor, awarded seven Orders of Lenin, the Order of the October Revolution, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of Kutuzov I degree, the Order of Suvorov II degree, and many medals, lived in this house for about 40 years.

Pavel Andreevich Voronin was born on July 12, 1903, the sixth child in a family of Kaluga railroad workers. His father worked as a switchman, his mother as a wayfarer. When Pavel was a sixteen-year-old teenager, he was employed as a railway train marker at Kaluga Station. Thus began the career of the future twice Hero of Socialist Labor.

Pavel's distinctive features were rare diligence and tremendous perseverance. His irrepressible desire for knowledge drew him to Moscow. In 1920, he got a job at Aviation Plant No. 1 (formerly Duks Plant) as a locksmith's apprentice.

In 1924, he became a student at the evening college. Successfully combining work with studies, he graduated from college in 1929. Continuing to work at the factory, Pavel Andreevich enters the evening engineering Institute named after Lepse.

Over the years of on-the-job work and study, he worked his way up from a locksmith to a shop supervisor. In this position, his talent as an organizer of production and a skilled leader of the work team manifested itself.

From 1937 to 1940, Voronin worked as a shop supervisor, head of production, party organizer of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b) at the plant, director of the plant, giving his rich experience, organizational skills and energy to the development of the enterprise.

Pavel Andreevich Voronin became the initiator of many good deeds. In September 1939, on the personal instructions of I.V. Stalin and in coordination with the People's Commissariat of the Aviation Industry, Voronin issued an order to organize a special design department (OKO), under the leadership of Artyom Ivanovich Mikoyan and his deputy Mikhail Iosifovich Gurevich. On December 8 of the same year, the EYE was approved by order of the People's Commissariat of the Aviation Industry of the USSR. Thus began the story of one of the most famous design teams, which secured worldwide fame and whose specific work was embodied in the famous MiGs.

In 1940, Pavel Andreevich Voronin was appointed Deputy People's Commissar of the Aviation Industry by the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR. In a short time, the People's Commissariat organized the serial production of new aircraft, and Voronin's achievements were awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

The year is 1941. War. Pavel Andreevich Voronin, Deputy People's Commissar, is assigned the most difficult task: to relocate aviation plants to the east and establish serial production of combat aircraft as soon as possible. Pavel Andreevich Voronin was awarded the second Order of Lenin and the first Gold Star of the Hero of Socialist Labor for exceptional services in carrying out this task. A little later, in peacetime, he became a laureate of the Lenin Prize.

Pavel Andreevich Voronin's selfless activity was recognized by the government with the Orders of Lenin, the Order of Kutuzov, First degree, and other awards. In the victorious year 1945, he was awarded the Order of Suvorov II degree.

The war ended, and Pavel Andreevich, on the instructions of I.V. Stalin, returned to his native factory in 1946 as director and worked in this position until 1982.

In 1982, Voronin took a well-deserved rest. He died on September 8, 1984, and was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.

Pavel Andreevich Voronin was the organizer of the production, not only by position, but also by spirit. His organizational talent, natural culture, attentiveness to people, and contact with the leadership of related organizations ensured the fame of the company, whose specific work was embodied in the famous domestic aircraft that have passed through the years. Today, the MiG brand, as before, embodies a galaxy of powerful combat vehicles of various types and purposes.

There is a valuable part of our future in preserving the memory of Pavel Andreevich Voronin's life and work...
