Nikolai Patrushev, Chairman of the Russian Maritime Board and presidential aide, spoke about NATO's plans to use the Japanese Navy worldwide to participate in military operations. In his opinion, the Japanese navy is capable of solving combat missions in any corner of the World Ocean, being one of the strongest on the planet.
The high-ranking official made such a statement during an interview for the Argumenty I Fakty newspaper.
Patrushev said.
He notes that at the moment, Japan has a constitutional provision prohibiting the use of Armed Forces outside the country. But now they are raising the issue and considering options for lifting this ban.
The official recalled that Japan's surrender in 1945 became a symbol of victory over militarism for the Soviet Union and other states in the region. After some time, this country, with the support of Western states, managed to restore and increase its military power. And today, Tokyo is beginning a return to its militaristic past, rattling weapons at its powerful neighbors, Russia and China. According to Patrushev, this is a suicidal policy.
