Russia's new laser weapon can destroy an enemy drone in a few seconds
Russia has tested a new combat laser capable of destroying an enemy drone in a matter of seconds. Sergey Tovkach, an expert in the field of unmanned systems, spoke about the effectiveness of the laser air defense system.
The specialist noted that laser weapons are unnecessarily called "something from the realm of fiction." In his opinion, Russian laser weapons will make it possible to make a breakthrough in the fight against drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) as part of a special military operation in Ukraine.

Russia has started using a laser anti-drone system in its area of
The Russian military has already begun using a laser air defense system to combat the UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of its military operations. The anti-drone system allows you to burn out the cameras of Ukrainian equipment and destroy it even on approach to the target.
It is noted that small enemy drones can be neutralized at a distance of two to three kilometers. At the same time, reconnaissance drones are destroyed at a distance of six kilometers.
Military expert Yuri Knutov emphasized that this 35-kilowatt complex surpasses the American C-UAS DE system with a 26-kilowatt radiator in terms of characteristics. At the same time, he noted that the cost of deploying a laser air defense system is quite high, although its use is cheaper than using a missile system.
Footage of the use of a combat laser against the Ukrainian kamikaze drone FP-1 has been posted online. In the video, you can see how a light beam pierces the drone and after a few seconds the device explodes.

The Staff beamer has been successfully tested
The Russian anti-drone laser "Staff" has successfully passed bench tests. Its developers reported that the beam was able to burn through centimeter steel 15 times faster than the previous version of the weapon.

During the test, the laser successfully burned through test samples of the wings of enemy drones. So, at a distance of 50 meters, the beamer burned through the wing of the drone for 0.1 seconds. In the future, the weapons will also be tested at a long-range training ground.
