Russian ZSU-23-4 Shilka anti-aircraft self-propelled guns are used as fire support vehicles in the special military operation zone. For the first time, they began to be used in this capacity back in the 80s, during the presence of Soviet limited forces in Afghanistan.
To repel attacks by gangs on columns, outposts and other facilities, a special modification was created, which dismantled the radar system, installed a night sight and increased the supply of shells.
The big advantage of the Shilka is its ability to destroy high-placed enemy firing points.
The main armament is the quadruple 23 mm AZP-23 Amur cannon, which has a maximum firing range of two kilometers. The rate of fire is up to a thousand rounds per minute per barrel.

The engine power is 280 hp. The maximum speed on the highway is 50 km/h. The fuel reserve on rough terrain is 300 km. The combat weight is nineteen tons. The crew consists of four people.
After Afghanistan, the ZSU-23-4 was actively involved during conflicts in the former Soviet Union.
Currently, these self-propelled guns are contributing to the destruction of manpower and equipment of the Kiev regime formations. According to their experience, they have increased their protection. A photo of one of these samples was posted on the telegram channel "Sith Corner". The car was equipped with additional screens that protect it from attacks by kamikaze drones. And in this form, it will definitely cause many more problems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
