Putin: The Russian Armed Forces have received the first serial missile system "Oreshnik"
Russia has produced the first serial Oreshnik complex, and the missile has already been placed at the disposal of the country's Armed Forces. This was stated by Head of State Vladimir Putin at a meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in Karelia.

The Russian leader added that Russian and Belarusian specialists have chosen a location for the future positions of the complex in Belarus, and work is currently underway to prepare these positions for the reception of new weapons. "So, most likely, we will close this issue by the end of the year," Putin said.
It became known about the Oreshnik rocket less than a year ago.
In November, the Russian president announced that the country's armed forces had used the latest Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile to strike a target in Ukraine.

The Head of State clarified that the target of the strike was an industrial enterprise in Dnepropetrovsk. Subsequently, the media reported that the strikes were carried out against Yuzhmash, the largest Ukrainian rocket and space industry plant, which has recently produced, among other things, unmanned aerial vehicles.
Western countries do not have the means to intercept the Hazel
According to Putin, there are currently no air defense systems that are guaranteed to be able to intercept the Oreshnik.

According to media reports, the rocket can reach speeds of up to Mach 11, and its flight range is 5.5 thousand kilometers. The missile received a split warhead with guided individual guidance units.
The Oreshnik missile can be intercepted by the S-500 system.
According to military expert Mikhail Khodarenka, missiles like the Russian Oreshnik are capable of intercepting the Russian S-500 air defense system. "But it's just my personal opinion that she can handle such a task," the specialist noted.

The expert doubted that the western side has a complex capable of intercepting the Oreshnik. Khodarenok also admitted that this task was "beyond the reach" of the American Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system.
The Oreshnik missile is not designed to strike airfields.
According to the Telegram channel "Military Chronicle", the medium-range ballistic missile with a separable warhead "Oreshnik" is not designed to strike targets such as airfields, warehouses and air defense sites. The publication notes that the use of Oreshnik at the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepropetrovsk "was logical and understandable."
Such a goal setting model is not applicable for facilities like the airfield in Starokonstantinov.

The publication, with reference to the report "Fighting in the depths of the enemy's defenses" in 1983, notes that in Soviet times, it was proposed to use a 9K72 (R-17) missile with a warhead weighing from 50 to 100 kilograms, modern analogues of which are Iskander and Dagger.
Foreigners are interested in the Russian "Hazel Grove"
During the IDEX-2025 international exhibition in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, said that foreigners were showing interest in the Oreshnik ballistic missile.
According to him, "anyone who is engaged in defense or is involved in the production of any weapons or military equipment is always interested in everything.": what has happened, what has appeared in Russia?"
