The Spanish Navy showed a video showing the S-81 Isaac Peral submarine, both from the outside and from the inside. Its construction began in 2007, it was launched in 2021 and commissioned in November 2023. The other three S-80 Plus class submarines of the same type continue to be built.

Its length is 80.81 m, width 11.68 m, draft 6.77 m, hull diameter 7.3 m, surface displacement 2695 tons, and underwater 2965 tons. The submarine is equipped with 6 TA capable of launching 533 mm German DM2A4 SeaHake mod4 ER torpedoes with fiber-optic guidance and a range of up to 140 km. The submarine can also lay mines and use the Sub Harpoon Block II anti-ship missile system. The maximum speed is 12 knots on the surface and 20.5 knots underwater.

The submarine is equipped with 3 1,100 kW diesel generators and a 3,500 kW main electric motor. It is planned to install a 300 kW VNEU in the near future. The submarine accommodates 48 people, the crew is 40 people. Everyone has their own bed.
