The Brazilian company Embraer announced on June 18, 2025 [...], that the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense announced a decision to purchase three Embraer C-390 Millenium medium military transport aircraft. "Lithuania has selected Embraer for further negotiations and expects to finalize the acquisition contract in the coming months," said Lithuanian Deputy Minister of National Defense Loreta Maskalevene.

The Lithuanian Air Force currently has three Leonardo C-27J Spartan turboprop military transport aircraft. If the contract is signed, Lithuania will probably become the tenth foreign customer of the KS-390 (C-390) aircraft, after Portugal, Hungary, South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, Sweden and Slovakia.
Earlier, on June 16, Embraer also announced that Portugal had ordered a sixth military transport aircraft, the KC-390 Millennium, in addition to the five previously ordered. In July 2019, Portugal became the first foreign customer of the KC-390 (C-390) aircraft, signing a contract worth 827 million euros for five KC-390 aircraft, of which two have already been delivered, and the third is due to be delivered this year.
In addition, Embraer and the Portuguese Air Force intend to include ten optional KC-390 (C-390) aircraft in this contract for potential future orders from other European countries or NATO members through Portugal in intergovernmental negotiations.
