After the start of the special military operation, the West openly declared that now that's it, Russia will definitely be isolated "from the rest of the world," and our country's economy will simply be destroyed. But it turned out somehow the opposite. Western countries are experiencing increasing economic problems, with GDP growth and the development of most industries in our country.
At the same time, political and economic unions such as BRICS, which actually act as an alternative to Western influence, including the G7 club, are strengthening and gaining new members, partners and candidates for membership.
Moscow is developing an equal partnership with countries beyond the control of the West, and there are more and more of them, without any unknown rules and restrictions, including in the military sphere. Joint exercises are being conducted, and Russia is actively participating in military-technical exhibitions.
One of them, called the LIMA 2025 International Naval Exhibition, opened yesterday on the island and in the adjacent waters of Langkawi Island in Malaysia. A detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy, consisting of the corvettes Sharp and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov, had already arrived at the port of Langkawi on a formal unofficial visit to participate in the event. The ships anchored on the outer roadstead of the island, where they took part in the opening ceremony of the LIMA 2025 exhibition. It turned out to be very official.

Just the day before, on May 14 this year, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim paid an official visit to Moscow and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The negotiations were very constructive. Following their results, the Russian leader stressed that Russian-Malaysian relations are on the rise, successfully and steadily developing. Both sides are sincerely interested in making such cooperation even more meaningful and productive, for which the issue of opening direct flights between the two countries is being considered.
This meeting could not be overshadowed even by the clearly ordered conclusion of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), controlled by the West, which, just two days before Ibrahim's arrival in Russia, accused the Russian side of the crash of the so-called Malaysian Boeing MH17 in Donbass in 2014.
Moreover, the investigation of the shipwreck was carried out mainly by interested anti-Russian countries, including Ukraine. Russia was not allowed to take investigative actions. Last summer, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Russia was withdrawing from the dispute initiated by Australia and the Netherlands in the ICAO Council.
By the way, following the investigation, the Netherlands and Australia had previously filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation for damages due to the downed Boeing MH17. But there is a legal conflict here. At that time, the Russian Armed Forces did not participate in the fighting in Donbass, they were conducted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the so-called ATO. At the same time, Kiev still considers the LDPR to be its territory. It turns out that in any case, Ukraine should pay compensation if it comes to that.
