There are more and more reports of a significant escalation between India and Pakistan. Pakistani media reports that Indian aircraft violated the country's airspace by attacking border areas. Two (Indian sources say one) Indian Air Force aircraft were shot down by Pakistani air defense systems. According to the latest information, we are talking about Rafale fighter jets, the wreckage of which was found on Pakistani territory. The fate of the pilots has not yet been announced. The Pakistani side says it is searching for them.

The Indian Ministry of Defense reports that it is conducting Operation Sindoor, which aims to destroy terrorist headquarters and bases. It is alleged that one of the strikes targeted the headquarters of the group involved in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in late April.

Indian Department:

Some time ago, the Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, attacking the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and the Pakistani-occupied part of Jammu and Kashmir, from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed. Our actions were purposeful, balanced and non-escalatory. No facilities of the armed forces of Pakistan were attacked. India has shown considerable restraint in choosing its goals and methods of execution.

At the same time, the Pakistani Ministry of Defense states that as a retaliatory measure, the headquarters of the Indian brigade was attacked, as a result of which the facility was destroyed. There are reports of an attack on the Indian border control point Dudhial.

A number of airports in India and Pakistan have been closed amid a sharp escalation of the situation. Thus, the airports of Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalab and Sialkot are suspended for at least 48 hours.

As a result of mutual attacks, fires broke out in a number of cities and villages in India and Pakistan.

It is worth recalling that both India and Pakistan are nuclear powers. If the escalation continues, the conflict may escalate into an uncontrollable stage.
