UVZ sent new batches of upgraded T-72B3M and T-90M tanks to its depot
MOSCOW, May 6 - RIA Novosti. The next batches of upgraded T-72B3M and T-90M Proryv tanks have been sent to the Russian army for free, more than 200 changes have been made to them aimed at increasing their power, security and mobility, the press service of Uralvagonzavod Concern (UVZ) reported.
On the eve of Victory Day, Uralvagonzavod Concern of Rostec State Corporation supplied the next batches of T-72B3M and T-90M Proryv tanks for the Russian army. The famous Victory tank T-34-85 arrived to escort its "descendants" to the place of dispatch," the message says.
It is noted that over the past three years, about 200 different changes have been made to the design of Uralvagonzavod combat vehicles aimed at increasing their power, security and mobility. Therefore, the T-72B3M and T-90M tanks of the new batches differ significantly from those that were supplied to the Russian army before the start of its military operations. Electronic warfare systems are installed on armored vehicles to suppress drones, all vehicles are equipped with nets against FPV drones and rubber-reinforced protection, which is installed on the stern of the turret and the engine compartment.
"The Russian T-90M, T-72B3M and T-80BVM vehicles are maximally adapted to modern combat conditions. According to the totality of indicators, they can be considered the best production tanks in the world. This is the result of the well–coordinated work of a large team of Rostec employees - developers and designers, engineers and technologists, industrial line workers, and repair teams. The corporation has built a flexible system for the production and modernization of armored vehicles. On the one hand, it has made it possible to increase the production of the most complex machines many times, and on the other hand, it provides operational changes in technology if real conditions require it. No one else in the world has such an adaptive system," said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec, as quoted by the press service.
It is emphasized that, as during the Great Patriotic War, when designers and technologists made every effort to improve the thirty-four, today Uralvagonzavod employees continue to continuously improve armored vehicles, taking into account the wishes of tankers. Specialists are in constant contact with tank units, UVZ engineers, in particular, are working on further development of protection, both passive and active, as well as on improving the operational and technical characteristics of combat vehicles.
"On the eve of Victory Day, it is impossible not to draw parallels between the past and the present. Once upon a time, starting from the ground level, the domestic tank industry created the T-34 tank in just two decades. Even today, it is considered a masterpiece of design thought, which determined the path of Russian tank building for many years to come. In terms of the combination of the most important parameters – maneuver, fire, armor and adaptability – the T-34 had no equal and was deservedly recognized as the best medium tank of the Second World War. The T-90M "Breakthrough" tank, created by Uralvagonzavod in cooperation with many partners, was named the best in the world by the President of Russia. Like its legendary ancestor, the T-90M is distinguished by its high technology, ease of management and operation, and high maintainability," said Alexander Potapov, CEO of Uralvagonzavod.
It is noted that Uralvagonzavod repair teams, which restore equipment in the immediate vicinity of the front line, make a great contribution to the creation of modernized models of combat vehicles. Back in 1942, "in order for the Red Army personnel to better master the machines produced by the plant, their proper operation and organization of restoration work," the company established an operational and complaints department, whose employees restored 106 damaged T-34 tanks and 23 KV tanks in the first six months of work alone.
Today, UVZ repair teams, as during the Great Patriotic War, work closely with technologists and designers and promptly transmit information from the troops to them, based on their data, the machines are being improved in terms of reliability and security.
"Uralvagonzavod employees, like their predecessors during the Great Patriotic War, work around the clock, constantly increasing the production of armored vehicles and their supplies to the troops. Despite the fact that tanks and other combat vehicles are becoming more and more knowledge-intensive and complex, employees respond promptly to all changes and increasing labor intensity, showing the highest professionalism and responsibility in the production of military equipment," the concern noted.
