On August 17, the German Defense Ministry announced new supplies of equipment and weapons systems from the Armed Forces of Germany, as well as companies of the German defense industry, funded by the federal government to build security capabilities.

The Army-2022 Forum has become a record in terms of the amount of contracts concluded — it exceeded 500 billion rubles. The main agreements relate to the supply of strategic weapons, hypersonic missiles, drones and armored vehicles.

Officially formed in 1949, the PLA initially completely depended on the supply of equipment from the USSR. This technique was obtained in very large quantities, and soon China began to produce it itself.

On August 17, 2022, the German government published another detailed list of German supplies already made and planned as military-technical assistance to Ukraine. It is reported that the total volume of licenses for the export of military equipment to Ukraine issued by the German government from January 1 to August 8, 2022, amounted to 686.44 million euros.

The Hungarian Armed Forces reported that on August 10 and 17, 2022, the first two German 155 mm/52 self-propelled PzH 2000 howitzers of new production, out of 24 ordered under the 2018 contract, were delivered to the base of the 25th Infantry Brigade of the Hungarian Army in Tata.

On August 19, 2022, the US Department of Defense announced the provision of a large-scale new package of military assistance to Ukraine totaling $ 775 million. Thus, the total amount of US military aid officially allocated to Kiev since the beginning of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine on February 24 now reaches $9.9 billion. The total amount of US military aid to Ukraine since 2014 has exceeded $ 12.6 billion.

Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexey Krivoruchko said that during the ongoing International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2022", on August 16, 2022, seven state contracts were signed and 29 contracts were awarded to 26 enterprises of the military-industrial complex worth more than 500 billion rubles.

The first production cars may appear as early as this year. At the Army-2022 forum, which takes place in the Moscow region on August 15-21, Uralvagonzavod not only presented updated models of self-propelled artillery guns "Magnolia", "Phlox" and "Drok", but also announced the start of serial production of the first two systems.

The Western press has published material on the prospective development of new AML MLRS based on HIMARS installations, which are capable of operating without a crew, and are also equipped with twelve missiles instead of six. Interestingly, the authors began the article, apparently, with the phrase mandatory for Western media: "HIMARS multipurpose rocket launchers demonstrate their high efficiency on the Ukrainian front."

In Germany, a new concept of the structure of the Bundeswehr ground forces has been presented, according to which a significant strengthening of army artillery, reorganization of the air defense system and the transformation of parts of mechanized brigades into motorized infantry are assumed. German military leaders do not hide that such a reform of the ground forces will be a response to the events in Ukraine, which forced NATO countries to take a different look at the nature of the fighting in eastern Europe.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and defense industry companies concluded state contracts totaling more than 522 billion rubles during the Army-2022 forum.

Rostec State Corporation showed the capabilities of a combat robot on the chassis of a BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, which received the Tit module. The corresponding video appeared in the Telegram channel of the state corporation.

This year, a robotic version of the BMP-3 was presented at the Army International Military-Technical Forum. On August 16, the Head of the Main Department of Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Alexander Osadchuk, summed up the results of the first day of the work of the Army-2022 MVTF at a briefing for journalists.

The newest 120-mm self-propelled artillery gun 2S42 "Lotus", being developed for airborne units, has completed the preliminary testing stage. Currently, the developers are eliminating the shortcomings identified during the testing of the gun.

Defense Minister of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov said that Riga provided Kiev with six American M109 howitzers, RIA Novosti reports.

NATO countries are seeking to replace classic armored personnel carriers with MRAP-type armored vehicles in their troops, which have increased mine protection. In many ways, this rearmament was a response to the military actions of the alliance's allies in the Middle East. In the countries of this region, NATO was faced mainly with guerrilla wars, in which the main tactics of the rebels were reduced to mining the enemy's equipment routes and blasting in places where alliance forces were concentrated.

JSC "Concern of East Kazakhstan Region "Almaz - Antey" takes part in the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2022", which takes place from August 15 to 21 in Kubinka near Moscow on the basis of the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center. The holding acts as the general partner of Army-2022 and presents full-scale samples of weapons and military equipment, radar equipment, as well as a number of civilian developments at the forum, the press service of the Concern reports.
